Bible Study Focus: Is the Antichrist Here on Earth?
A Study for Young Believers Who Want the Truth — Not the Hype
Artistic depiction of the coming Antichrist as described in Revelation 13. This figure will deceive the nations — but every believer in Christ has nothing to fear.
Yes, We Are Living in the Last Days
Let’s get straight to it. If you’ve scrolled through the news lately, you’ve probably felt it — something is different about the times we’re living in. Wars, earthquakes, moral confusion, and an increasing hostility toward anyone who follows Jesus. That gut feeling you have? Scripture backs it up.
In Matthew 24:6–8, Jesus told His disciples, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Notice Jesus called these “the beginning.” We are watching those birth pains intensify right now.
The Apostle Paul warned Timothy directly: “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers…” (2 Timothy 3:1–2). Does that sound like today? Absolutely. Every believer who reads that passage can see its fulfillment unfolding in real time.
1 John 2:18 states plainly, “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.” The spirit of antichrist — a spirit that denies Jesus as Lord — has been active for centuries. But the final Antichrist, that singular man of lawlessness described in 2 Thessalonians 2:3–4, is set to be revealed in God’s perfect timing.

Don’t Look for the Antichrist — Look for Jesus Christ
Here’s where so many people — even well-meaning Christians — get off track. It’s easy to become obsessed with figuring out who the Antichrist might be. Is he a world leader? A tech mogul? A politician? But Jesus never told His Church to spend its energy identifying the Antichrist. He told every follower to watch for Him.
Titus 2:13 calls it “the blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” That’s the event every young believer should be excited about. Not the rise of an evil ruler, but the return of the King of Kings. The Antichrist is a footnote in God’s story. Jesus is the headline.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, Paul writes that the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and every believer — both those who have died in Christ and those still alive — will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air. That is the promise. That is what should keep you hopeful, even when the world looks dark.
“It is not for us to know the times and seasons; but it is our duty to watch and pray, to work and wait, always looking for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Live as though He might appear at any moment, for indeed He may.”
What Should You Be Doing Right Now?
In Luke 19:13, Jesus said, “Occupy till I come.” That single command carries enormous weight. It means: don’t sit around waiting — get to work. Here’s what that looks like for a teenager living in the last days:
- Be a witness. Every person you know at school, on your team, or in your circle needs to hear about Jesus. You may be the only Bible someone ever reads (Matthew 5:16).
- Live a godly life. Holiness isn’t old-fashioned. Peter wrote, “Since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?” (2 Peter 3:11). A Christ-honoring life is the most powerful statement you can make.
- Stay rooted in the Word. Psalm 119:105 says God’s Word is a lamp to your feet. In confusing times, Scripture is your anchor.
- Share the Gospel urgently. Paul told the Romans, “How shall a person hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14). Every day is an opportunity.
God Knows His Own — And He Will Protect Each One
Maybe the scariest thing about the end times is the idea of God’s coming judgment. But here’s the truth that should bring you absolute peace: God knows exactly who belongs to Him, and He will not confuse His children with those destined for wrath.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 declares, “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” If you have placed your faith in Jesus, that promise belongs to you — personally, specifically, and eternally.
God’s knowledge is perfect. 2 Timothy 2:19 says, “The Lord knows those who are His.” He doesn’t guess. He doesn’t make mistakes. Every single believer is known, sealed, and protected by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14). While judgment is indeed coming for a world that rejects Jesus Christ, every child of God will be safely gathered into eternal paradise.
“The Lord Jesus is coming. This is the joy of His Church. He who said ‘I will come again’ has never broken a promise, and He will not begin to do so now. Let us live in the hope of His appearing.”
The Bottom Line
Is the Antichrist here? The spirit of antichrist is certainly active in this world. Whether the final Antichrist has already been born or is still to come, that’s in God’s hands — not ours. Your job isn’t to identify him. Your job is to know Jesus, make Jesus known, and live every single day like He could return before sunset.
The end times are not a reason to panic. For a believer, the end times are a reason to praise. Your redemption is drawing near (Luke 21:28). So lift up your head, open your Bible, share your faith — and get ready to meet the Savior face to face.
He’s coming soon. And that, friend, is the best news you’ll ever hear.
